Every vehicle doesn’t need to be LS swapped — there are plenty of other ways to make horsepower, including stuffing a diesel engine into something. The team at Porky’s Diesel Performance decided that the only crossbred vehicle they wanted was a 1957 Ford F100 with a 12-valve Cummins engine under the hood that could be driven on the street. This truck rolls all the coal on its way to 9-second passes at the track.

The F100 came off the assembly line with either a small displacement six or eight-cylinder engine — not the most exciting choices — and that also meant cramming a different engine between the fenders would be a challenge. Porky’s Diesel found an interesting solution to fit the Cummins in the truck and it came in the form of a Crown Victoria subframe. The truck received a Ford 9-inch rear end to deal with all the power generated by the Dodge engine that is fed boost from compound 75 and 85mm BorgWarner turbos. To make the truck legal for 9-second passes, a home-built 8.50 certified roll cage was welded in place.

The truck was built to be a driver and the goal was for it to compete in Drag Week this year, however, due to COVID that has been put on hold. Porky’s Diesel did get plenty of hits in this year at the track and laid down a personal best 9.662 at 137 mph while testing.
