On any road trip stopping at the gas station seems like a reoccurring task that happens too often. Being able to get further on your tank of gas or have an option that lets you extend your range is what the folks at Titan Fuel Tanks can help with.
Titan Fuel Tanks came to the SEMA Show to show off some new products that will help truck owners get more out of their tank of fuel. They showcased two in-bed solutions along with two replacement tanks. All of the tanks are made from military-grade, cross-linked polymer and are 20 times more durable than linear polymer stock OEM tanks.
The bed of a truck is a great place to store your gear and luggage on a trip, but it is also the perfect spot to store extra fuel. Titan Fuel Tanks offers two solutions: the sidekick 15-gallon tank that goes over the wheelwell and the Travel Trekker, which offers 50 gallons of additional capacity and an electronically-controlled transfer system.
The Mega Cab tank (left) and the EcoDiesel tank (right) can both get you further without having to stop at a gas station.
The factory tank on the Ram Mega Cab is 34 gallons while the Titan tank is 51 gallons. These replacement tanks get installed in the factory location and use the factory fuel sending unit. There is no rust or corrosion with the Titan tanks as they use a seamless system with no welds.
Diesels have been a staple in heavy-duty trucks, but are starting to trickle down to the half-ton market. The Ram EcoDiesel was the first half-ton truck to receive the diesel. The Titan mid-ship tank takes the capacity up from 26 gallons to 39 gallons. Based on EPA mileage, this tank will get the EcoDiesel around 1,100 miles.
