There are very few more-recognizable logos in the off road market than the familiar yellow-circle with a prominent “KC” written out in that circle. The company we are referring to is the legendary KC HiLITES that has recently made a huge push into the LED market. To get some more information about this LED-craze, we spoke with Ron Pryczynski, National Sales Manager for KC HiLITES.
Shown front and rear, the Flex Series lights can be combined using simple plug and play technology.New for KC is their Flex Series of LED lights that come in either single, dual, 10-inch, or 20-inch configurations and are of a modular-design as to allow the consumer to join them together, either vertically or horizontally, using special connectors to create just about any type of light they can imagine. Pryczynski explained, “It’s based on a 10-watt LED and is called the ‘Flex’ series because of how flexible their uses are. Once the consumer buys a Flex light, they aren’t stuck with it. They can combine them, stack them, change the bezels, and add filters to make them whatever they want in a powerful, yet small, form.”
Next up was their new Gravity Series which again, uses LED lighting technology and 5,000K color temperatures to light up the terrain that lies ahead. Being offered in six-inch free standing lights, six-inch inserts, driving lights, and OEM replacement fog lights, the Gravity Series is actually SAE/ECE Certified Street Legal, yes, street legal! In addition, for Jeep JK owners, KC offers this same technology in OEM replacement lights that are truly plug and play. Pryczynski explained, “Now we are using our larger patented reflector technology that allows us to make off road lights and an array of street legal driving lights in a standard form the customer is used to. By shooting the LED-beam into the reflector in a proprietary fashion, we are able to generate a strong beam of light.”
