So, at some point in time, most of us have had to make do with what we had. We were either in college, just moved out on our own, or times were rough. So, think back to those days and remember what it was like. Then watch this video and applaud the effort, even if the execution isn’t…um… shall we say flawless.

We came across this 1982 Volvo 245 DL 4 door wagon on Youtube and had to stop. How often do you see a wagon with a Garrett GT32 turbocharger sticking out of the hood? Now we aren’t talking about something designed for the race track, this is a straight up, daily driving a wagon to and from school with a turbo sucking fresh air hanging out the hood.
If you haven’t seen a turbocharged Volvo 245 DL, that is because they were naturally aspirated. So, this guy made it work. Given that he drives this thing around everyday, the impeller probably isn’t in the greatest shape as he runs without an air cleaner.
If by now, you have watched the video, you realize that the “made it work” aspect of the car can be seen thoughout. The owner has rigged up almost every aspect of the car to keep it on the road. If you are wondering about the motorcycle reference but got a kick out of the ghost key reference, the previous owner was hit by a motorcycle. The owner of the car, got a bruse on her hand. The motorcycle driver, died on impact.
Anyways, back to something more entertaining. We started watching the video and quickly realized he made the video for a reason; he is selling this unique vehicle. The price $25,000. Yes, that is US dollars not Mexican Pesos. So, did it sell, nope, but he did get 7 offers.
It went back up for sale, but with an asking price of $8,000. It still doesn’t appear to have sold, but the seller didn’t relist it.
