Plot Twist: RAM Super Bowl Commercial Reinvents Goldilocks

When explained out loud, an annual tradition in America might appear a bit strange. On the second Sunday in February, most of the country settles in for an uninterrupted afternoon that consists of binging eating chicken wings, scarfing potato chips, and putting down an unhealthy amount of malted beverage, all in the name of watching 22 men in tights chase a leather ball. Naturally, we’re talking about the Super Bowl.

Sure, there are some people who tune in to watch their favorite team compete in the grand finale of the NFL season. However, many are in it for the advertisements. Thanks in part to its massive viewership, over the course of its 59-year history, the Super Bowl has become the most coveted four hours of airtime for advertisers. In 2025, each 30-second spot commanded an eye-popping eight million dollars. Spending huge amounts of money to get in front of millions of people has led to some of the greatest advertising campaigns of all time, including the Budweiser frogs, Bud Light’s real men of genius, Coca-Cola with Mean Joe Green, Pepsi with Cindy Crawford, and of course the original Wendy’s “Where’s the beef?” ad from 1984.

Car companies have gotten in on the big game ad action as well, and in recent years it has been the Stellantis family of brands that has brought some of the most memorable commercials to the Super Bowl. Who can forget Jeep’s 2020 commercial with Bill Murray reprising his role from Groundhog Day as he takes the large rodent for a wild ride in a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, which was powered by a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 turbodiesel engine. RAM has gotten in on the action as well, with such bangers as its 2013 “Farmer” ad, “Tamed Beast” in 2017, and of course “Premature Electrification” in 2023.

For Super Bowl LIX in 2025, RAM once again returned with a fantastic ad featuring none other than legendary actor Glen Powell (star of Twisters, Top Gun Maverick, Hitman, and others) as Goldilocks. Powell (instead of a young girl) bursts through the door of the three-bear cabin and declares Goldilocks is now a rugged woodsy dude. He proceeds to jump on the beds, test out the chairs, and sample some porridge … you know, all things Goldilocks does, before heading outside to sample something a bit tastier: a trio of RAM trucks.

Chief among the trucks that Goldilocks samples is a gorgeous 2025 RAM 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel powered by the newly improved 6.7-liter Cummins I-6 diesel engine. He took the truck to pick up some “dinner,” a large fire breathing dragon that he slays with a single punch before roasting whole on a giant smoker towed behind the Rebel. In addition to the Heavy Duty Rebel, the ad also featured a battery electric RAM REV (which he used to power some wood carving) and a RAM RHO (in which he jumped an erupting volcano). The three bears make a cameo appearance riding shotgun in the RAM trucks, and of course, they all live happily ever after.
