ZIP TIES N BIAS PLIES: 4,300 Miles in a Beat-Up Ford Across America

A Canadian YouTuber, known only as “P” or “Peg,” recently finished a five-day, 4,300-mile road trip in a 1990 Ford F-250. Peg, also known by his YouTube channel, ZIP TIES N BIAS PLIES, is known for recording his tough trucks.

If you’re familiar with the TV series “Letterkenny,” Peg’s YouTube videos are for you. He uses slang similar to characters from the series. He calls himself a “Canadian hillbilly” and always shows a love for simple pleasures.

For this adventure, he traveled from Alberta, Canada, to Pennsylvania. Peg documented his cross-country trip and went through several states to attend a tractor show.

His vehicle, a 1990 Ford 7.3 IDI, showed its age. The truck had 396,086 miles on it at the start. “If you don’t want to go 4,500 miles, don’t start,” Peg said at the beginning of the video.

The Ford, which he calls “Ferd,” faced problems. Peg had to replace the front tires in South Dakota. He added engine sealant multiple times to address a head gasket issue.

“I had a coffee, dumped two bottles of Carnation Instant head gasket into this old thing,” he said. He later joked about feeding the truck solid food. He said that the truck deserved it after hard work.

Peg started his trip somewhere in Alberta. He made stops in towns across the province. He crossed into Montana, where he visited Yellowstone National Park. There, he saw the Old Faithful geyser and swam in Yellowstone Lake.

While staring at the geysers, he commented, “The one commonality that Canada definitely has with the states and that’s cities suck.” Peg also made humorous observations about cultural differences during his adventure.

Peg then drove to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore. The man expressed awe at the monument. From there, he passed through Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, and West Virginia. He met fans along the way, often giving them merchandise.

His trip finished at an event in Pennsylvania. The event featured heavy machinery and a dirt track. He drove his truck on the track, concluding his adventure. “You don’t need to worry about the dirt mound,” he said.

He had completed an epic road trip in a questionable vehicle, and both he and said truck lived to tell the tale. You can watch more of Peg’s fun adventure by searching ZIP TIES N BIAS PLIES on YouTube.
